Purple Tea

All bright colored fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, a compound that helps protect our bodies. One such antioxidants called Anthocyanins is found in purple-colored fruits and vegetables. In Kenya, Africa, the Assam tea plant is cultivated extensively. The tea scientists of Kenya developed a tea strain that was super rich in Anthocyanins and thus the tea leaves were purple on the bush, instead of green. When something acidic, like a lime or lemon, is squeezed into a cup of this tea, the liquor immediately turns purple in color due to the change in pH. This is the only tea in the world that has Anthocyanins. A good tasting tea...that is extra healthy for you.
